About Turkish Government Universities:
Turkey has over 120 government/state universities offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate level programs in many fields. Government universities of Turkey are state funded and hence more affordable in terms of education prices than private universities. Government universities are also older and more established in ranking as compared to private universities.
The medium of instruction in most government universities is Turkish while universities do offer some programs in English. If the level of Turkish language is not found enough at C1 level, students have to enrol in a preparatory year of Turkish (TOMER).
Some Turkish state universities are internationally renowned, attracting many of the highest scoring students as well as having the most competitive and sought-after applied science, education, engineering, art and social science programs in Turkey. Among them are Middle East Technical University, Bogazici University, Istanbul Technical University and many more.
